Skiing at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood

Mount Hood is an incredible destination for outdoor adventure any time of year, but in the winter, it’s a winter wonderland for snowsport enthusiasts! It’s only 50 miles from Portland and 35 miles from Hood River and offers a variety of ski areas for all experience levels and personalities. There are four main ski areas at Mount Hood, with Timberline Lodge being a perennial favorite. Thanks to its location at the peak of Mount Hood, Timberline Lodge is the only ski area in the country to be open a fantastic ten months out of the year.

The lift system at Timberline Lodge is interesting, too, with 6 High-Speed Quads, 2 Doubles, 1 Surface, and 2 Passenger Snowcats transporting you to various jumping-off points for your downhill alpine adventure. Timberline Lodge is also well-known for its varied terrain parks, which are industry-leading and open throughout the year.
