Adventurers, This Is Why You Need to Attend PCT Days

When our minds wander to the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge, we can’t help but think of the rushing river, lush vegetation, towering trees, and cascading waterfalls. It’s easy to appreciate the outdoors here, and we even have festivals and events to help you do so. One of our favorites is PCT Days. With a focus on hiking, backpacking, and camping, this initiative features the latest outdoor gear, local food and beverages, live music, and more fun activities to enjoy in the beautiful Cascade Locks.

About PCT Days

PCT Days, also known as Pacific Crest Trail Days, is a 3-day festival that occurs every summer in August. This event celebrates all aspects of outdoor recreation with a focus on hiking, camping, and backpacking. Each day is filled with fun events, classes, and lectures you won’t want to miss.

Friday kicks off the festival each year with a campsite check-in, gear expo, and welcome party. Welcome parties in the past have included a food and beer garden, live music, and games. On Saturday, you can compete against fellow festival-goers during events like sleeping bag races and scavenger hunts. On Sunday, you’ll get to enjoy breakfast before hitting the Pacific Crest Trail. If you are interested in knowing the specific schedule for this year, take a look at the PCT Days schedule online.

PCT Days Pricing

All the events and admission during PCT Days are free to attend; you can go for one day or all three. New information is presented each day and the latest gear and products are on sale on Friday and Saturday. The only things you will have to purchase are campsites, gear from vendors, and raffle tickets. All proceeds of the raffle go to The Pacific Crest Trail Association and The American Long Distance Hiking Association-West, so it’s for a good cause!

What is the Pacific Crest Trail?

Also known as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail is a long-distance hiking and equestrian pathway. It is closely aligned with the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountain Ranges and stretches down the West Coast. Whether you’re looking to hike just a portion or embark on the long but rewarding full journey, the trail features some great scenic destinations. Enjoy 25 national forests and seven national parks along the 2,659-mile route. You will traverse the desert, glaciers of the Sierra Nevada, deep forests, commanding vistas, and volcanic peaks. Thousands of people have completed this trail, and you can too!
