If you are ready for carolers around town, cups of hot cocoa, Christmas lights, and holiday festivities, come to the Columbia River Gorge for one of the great events happening over the next month. From holiday train rides to tree lightings and Christmas concerts, Hood River and the surrounding towns, really knows how to make one feel merry and bright all season long!

November 16-December 29: MT Hood Train to Christmas Town

Feel the holiday magic in the air on a scenic train ride to Christmas Town. Classic Christmas songs will delight your ears and Christmas characters will take over the railroad cars for a fun and scenic trip to the holiday village known as Christmas Town. Ages 1-100 will enjoy this special holiday trip. To plan your holiday train ride, read our blog post Everything You Need to Know About the Mount Hood Railroad.

December 6: Hood River Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting

Experience the charming town of Hood River as it lights up for the holidays. From 4-6 pm on December 6th, downtown merchants will be hosting incredible sales and promotional deals for Christmas shopping. After shopping, step outside and watch as beautifully decorated and lit up floats glide through downtown. Holiday characters like Santa and the Grinch will be making stops around the town as carolers bring the floats to the Christmas Tree. At 6:45 the enormous pine tree on State & Second Street will be illuminated as the crowd cheers with joy. Grab a cup of cocoa and get into the holiday spirit!

December 14: Christmas on the Farm

Christmas on the Farm is the perfect excuse to visit Cedar Creek Alpacas this holiday season. Cookies and warm beverages will be available to enjoy while you meet with the resident alpacas. While you’re visiting the farm, stop by the gift shop and pick up some warm (and incredibly soft) gifts made from sheared alpaca wool for your friends and family. You can also pick up a spool of yarn that you can turn into a scarf, mittens, a hat, or anything else your mind can imagine.
