Hood River County Fruit Loop Hard Cider and Blossom Time Festivals

Hood River Valley white flowers

The Hood River Valley truly blossoms in April as vibrant hues of pink and white take over the region. This signals the start of Hood River Valley Blossom Time, a month-long celebration of spring and the beautiful flowers and warmer weather it brings!

Hood River Valley Bloom

There are many ways to celebrate blossom time in April, from activities on various farms to wine tastings. A popular event is Fruit Friday at The Fruit Company where you’ll find a wonderful selection of produce and gourmet treats at a discounted price every Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Another featured event is the Hood River County Fair Blossom Craft Show, April 16 – 17, at the Hood River County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Find a unique treasure to keep as a souvenir or hand-crafted gifts for friends and family.

Hood River Valley Orchards

Once you’ve seen the wine we stock at Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins, you’ll know we take our wine seriously as does the Columbia Gorge Winegrowers Gorge Wine Experience event, April 29 – May 1! Enjoy exquisite tastings and learn more about the winegrowing region, the wineries, and enjoy the themed events at various locations.

If wine isn’t your beverage of choice, you might be interested in the Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest on April 16 from noon to 7 p.m. In its third year, the fest brings together the craft cidermakers of the Hood River Valley to showcase their finest brews. More than 20 cideries are attending and will have more than 40 ciders on tap for tastings. There will also be food vendors on-site so you can truly taste a variety of flavors from this region. Tickets are only $10 for a full event pass which includes a commemorative glass! Theresa and Richard are happy to offer complementary tickets (2-per guests) that stay at the cabins on April 16, 2016.

Though, one of the best ways to appreciate the colors of blossom time and the beautiful views of the Hood River Valley is to drive The Fruit Loop! This 35-mile loop is home to dozens of farms and wineries and is one of the first recommendations we make to our guests. You’ll find fresh fruit, baked goods, produce, and some farms and orchards are U-pick where you can select your own fruit to take back with you.

View the full schedule of events online to find ones that will complement your luxurious stay at Carson Ridge Cabins! Or, for our guests that love to plan ahead, save the date for The Fruit Loop’s Cherry Days Celebration, July 16 – 17 and we’ll try to keep a cabin open for you!
