The Maryhill Museum of Art is about an hour from our cabins in Washington and well worth the trip. It’s perfect for rainy day adventures – but you shouldn’t wait for rain to enjoy this fantastic museum. The Maryhill Museum of Art is a one-of-a-kind experience in the Columbia River Gorge, blending a diverse art collection with a rich historical background. Housed in a grand mansion with stunning views of the river, the museum showcases everything from European and American paintings to Native American artifacts and fashion pieces from Queen Marie of Romania’s wardrobe.
Current exhibits at the Maryhill Museum of Art include the following:
- The Columbia River: Wallula to the Sea, which highlights stunning landscape paintings of the Columbia River.
- King Salmon: Contemporary Relief Prints, focusing on intricate woodblock prints of salmon.
- Portraits Across Borders, highlighting the art and language arts of Goldendale High School students.

The Maryhill Museum of Art is open daily from mid-March through mid-November and is the perfect destination for nature lovers and art lovers alike.
