Get Involved in Hood River Windsurfing
Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association
Hood River windsurfing is so popular that the non-profit organization, the Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association, has been successfully helping both windsurfers and the environment since 1987. Throughout the year, they conduct volunteer clean-ups throughout the Columbia River coast to keep the Gorge clean and provide launch sites for windsurfers.
Check their Gorge Launch-Sites Map for the best beaches to start Hood River windsurfing from! Each year, this organization also puts on “swap-meets” where you can purchase donated gear at reasonable prices. Not only does this make windsurfing more accessible to everyone, it also raises money for the organization to keep up with their programs.
