Hiking up Beacon Rock State Park
As part of the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area, the views from Beacon Rock State Park are breathtaking. Beacon Rock sticks straight out of the bank of the Columbia River, just waiting for you to climb to the top. At 848 feet, the entire hike will bring you higher and higher above the river. When you begin your trek, you’ll start your ascent immediately at the base on a gravel path. As you make your way up the southern side of the rock, handrails and a sturdy walkway have been put in place. The trail is under a mile with a gentle grade and many spots to rest so you won’t get overwhelmed.
