Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls You Must See

Multnomah Falls

One must-see destination during your visit to the Columbia River Gorge is Multnomah Falls. This breathtaking 611-foot-tall cascade is the tallest waterfall in Oregon and one of the most beautiful and inspirational natural landmarks to discover in the Gorge. A 2.6-mile round-trip hike will take you 800 feet up to the top of this roaring giant, from which you will gain a new perspective. Of all the Columbia River Gorge waterfalls, this is by far the most popular and most magnificent!

Elowah Falls

There are a variety of Columbia River Gorge waterfalls you will encounter during your hikes, and one of the best is Elowah Falls. The hike to Elowah Falls in Oregon starts at the John B. Yeon Trailhead and ends at the magnificent waterfall that will take your breath away. The 1.4-mile round trip includes an elevation gain of 280 feet that is fairly easy to navigate. Once you reach the main attraction, you will discover where McCord Creek cascades into a huge fall site made of distinct lava flows. Take in your gorgeous forest surroundings as you are captivated by the astonishing Elowah Falls height.

Falls Creek Falls

An easy drive north of Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins on Wind River Road brings you face to face with your next magical discovery! The Falls Creek Falls, WA, State Park features one of the largest and most powerful Columbia River Gorge waterfalls, and it is quite awe-inspiring to gaze upon! Get lost in nature for a little bit when you venture on this incredible hike. Soak in your lush environment, from bright green mossy rocks to the sweet sounds of birds chirping in the forest. The rushing cascade of the Falls Creek Falls is just the icing on the cake of an already amazing adventure in the Gorge!

Wahclella Falls

Wahclella is one of the more interesting falls in the Gorge. The most obvious portion is the lower drop, where the water drops from a hidden, narrow gorge 65 feet into a large open canyon. Above the lower falls is a semi-hidden upper falls in the main stream. You can see this 50 footer from the end of the trail loop. In the winter months, there’s a third tier visible from further back, particularly on the lower level trail. Expect a light spray from this gorgeous Columbia River Gorge waterfall!

Panther Creek Falls

Hiking in Washington doesn’t get any better than setting out on a crisp, bright afternoon to find Panther Creek Falls. Imagine standing in a mossy oasis, surrounded by magnificent, cascading waterfalls. Rushing all around you as you stand from the safety of the lush green forest floor, Panther Creek Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder!
