Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins Introduce New Innkeepers

April 29th, 2012

Wahclella Falls in the Columbia River Gorge
The four of us enjoying beautiful Wahclella Falls.

“The sun shining in the Columbia River Gorge, reflecting off the water, the wineries and vineyards, the orchards and Mt. Hood, the close proximity to Portland . . . there’s so much to do and see here.”

Let me just start off by saying how lucky Tom and I are to be the new innkeepers at Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins. This is easily the best place to stay here in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. I’m Marianne Pratt, and my partner is Tom Bales.

Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins owners Pete and Latisha Steadman want to spend more time as a family with their young son Taiquito. Soon they’ll head off on new adventures, but they’re not leaving us behind. They promise to keep friends and guests updated because there’s more to come and we know you’ll want to read about it.

The privacy and pampering continue, with some new enhancements.

Pete and Latisha have created a legacy of gracious, friendly hosting, and Tom and I look forward to continuing the tradition of providing an exceptional experience to all our guests.

Tom’s lifelong hospitality career has spanned different countries and cultures but always focused on providing a personalized, 5-diamond experience. Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins are right up his alley. As former restaurant owners, Tom and I are also adding new menu items and other little touches to make our breakfasts even more memorable.

Our Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins let you escape for a special occasion or a quick getaway, but this is also the perfect quiet headquarters from which to spend several days or a week exploring everything the Columbia River Gorge, Mount St. Helens, Hood River and Mt. Hood have to offer.

And who wouldn’t want to do that? I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest most of my life. But for Tom, the Columbia River Gorge is new. Already he describes himself as “overwhelmed with the beauty” even though he’s lived in some notoriously gorgeous places includingJapan,Hawaii,Costa Rica, theRockies.

The lushness and lusciousness here are simply exceptional, and we can’t imagine anyone not being blown away by this environment.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the Columbia River Gorge area?

Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins is Pet Friendly

October 29th, 2010

You love to travel. You love your dog. You love to travel with your dog. We’d love to welcome you to our Hood River cabins.

That’s a lot of love, to be sure, but the truth is, some folks really enjoy traveling with their dogs. We do, too! We understand that it is certainly easier to load the dog into the car and drive to your destination than to load the dog into the car, drive to a boarding facility, bid a tearful adieu, and arrive at your destination sans Fido. We also realize that, like us, many of our guests enjoy the company of their faithful four-legged friend on the hiking trails. There are dozens of dog-friendly trails in The Gifford Pinchot National Forest (including the Pacific Crest Trail), along the I-84 corridor in the Columbia River Gorge, and between the Hood River Valley and Mt. Hood’s Timberline Lodge.

The Carson Ridge Cabins gang: Lexi, Penny, and Bear.

Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins welcomes your gentle, well-socialized dog in our Northern Territory cabin. You can review our Pet Terms and Conditions here to help you determine whether to bring Spot with you.

And while here, we invite our guests to say hello to our pooches: Penny, our old Jack Russel, and Lexi and Bear, our 2 year old Toy Australian Shepherds. Lexi is due to have her second litter of puppies any day now – we can’t wait!

New Columbia River Gorge Cabins

October 21st, 2010

We are thrilled to have three new, luxurious cabins at Carson Ridge and so, apparently, are our guests. Here’s what they’re saying:

“My husband and I are veteran “B&B”ers. This experience surpassed our very high expectations. The Mt. Hood cabin combines the best of privacy and rustic beauty   with modern luxury. Beautifully appointed … the attention to detail is remarkable.” (EK & DP, Bethesda, Maryland)

“For the first time ever, I HATED to leave. It was better than home!” (J & A, Washington)

“My wife and I just returned from spending 6 nights with the wonderful folks at Carson Ridge. If you are considering a visit to the Columbia River Gorge area, look no further: this is THE PLACE to stay.” (GB, Illinois)

An interior view of the spacious Mt. Hood

The Mt Hood, Mount St. Helens, and Mt Adams cabins were all designed with luxury and comfort in mind. Curl up in a leather chair with a book in front of the gas fireplace or head outdoors to explore the Columbia River Gorge. Indulge in a romantic soak in the the two-person hydrotherapy jetted tub, hunker down and watch a movie on the flat screen tv from the ultra-plush, king-size bed, or simply take in the unbroken vista of the Cascade Mountains while gently swaying on the porch swing. A warm and hardy breakfast is delivered to your cabin every morning – all you need to do is open the door. And let’s not forget, the wine refrigerator guarantees the right temperature of that bottle you purchased on your tasting tour, and the heated tile floors will keep your feet toasty on your way to the two-person shower.

Enjoy a bubbly soak in the hydrotherapy jetted tub for two

Known for its unparalleled outdoor recreation and beauty, there just aren’t enough days in a weekend to appreciate all that the Gorge offers. Summer hikes give way to fall color tours and winter skiing. Every season has its own unique flavor and personality. Experience them all – return to our luxury Hood River cabins again and again. You’ll thank yourself.
